From here the needs of the Blade Mill (now Park House) necessitated complicated water management from onwards involving channelling the E Brook along the side of the valley and creating a large pool in what is now a meadow. The Blade Mill was closed and converted into a private house by and the area was : Roger Lea.

PARK Within the Park, to the west of the Town Gate, is Park House (listed grade II), probably originally let on a long lease and now leased out (in as a restaurant) by the City Council. The present house, formerly an C18 mill house on the site of an earlier watermill, was extended c when the accompanying grounds were planted up.
One of these mills was the Blade Mill in Sutton Park, with its tilt hammer and grindstones, which must have been a busy place in The first blade mill on the site (next to Park House), built c, had gone (probably washed away by the great flood of ) by when the site was purchased by Thomas : Roger Lea.
A mill pool in the grounds of Park House survives with an associated enclosure defined by an earthen bank. The pool powered a blade mill in the early 18th century and later a gun mill and tilt hammer. Park House, an 18th century mill house which replaced an earlier water mill, is a Listed Building Grade II.
